Watercolor 101

This class is for anyone that wants to learn the basics of watercoloring in order to start, and also even the most experienced painters might pick up a new technique or two. Grab your brushes and palettes and join! In this class, you will learn: how to use watercolor paint on wet paper how to use watercolor paint on dry paper how to mix a color starting with the primary colors As a way to emphasize the lessons and show off our new skills, we will all be painting a subject matter that has amazing color, texture, and structure through basic lines and leaves. It takes practice and experimentation to get good handle on how watercolors work and react to different processes. While we won't be doing any drawing ( YAY! ), you will know key takeaways like when to use more or less water, how to use different brushes, and how to make a basic color chart with the paint you have. Sunday, April 9th at 5pm Online via zoom - Class will be recorded so don't worry if you can't be there live. Class time - 2 hours SUPPLIES LIST: Watercolor paper - cold press - 140 weight Brushes - 1 fine point, 1 medium round Paint - Tube or watercolor concentrate in primary colors. Painters Tape White opaque paint ( Matte Acrylic or Gouache ) Tray for mixing Water for rinsing. Registration Required In House Class - Plan Package Eligible Eligible Age ( Adult - 13+ )
